Here at UCC, we believe that evangelism (spreading the good news of the gospel of Christ) is the job of every believer, not just those who work in the church. There are opportunities to do this both locally and globally. Some require a great deal of commitment, but others are very simple and can be done at little to no cost. Below is a list of both local and global mission opportunities that you can take part in.
Gospel Rescue Mission (http://www.lcgrm.org)
Community of Hope (http://www.mvcommunityofhope.org)
Both of these involve reaching out to the homeless and needy in Las Cruces.
Each summer, UCC adult members and college students are involved in a 1 to 2 week mission trip somewhere in the world. We have visited places like Kenya, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Honduras, and we plan to visit more. For information on mission trips, please contact the church office.
The UCC youth group is also involved in several mission trips within the country throughout the year and need the help of adult sponsors. Check out www.highvolt.com for more information.
If you would like to make a donation to our missions fund, please click here. (Be sure to select “Campus Missions” in the “To” column.)
If you are unable to go on a mission trip or donate to one, you can still help through prayer. Please be prayerful for our missionaries and for the people they will come into contact with.
