Here at UCC, we believe that evangelism (spreading the good news of the gospel of Christ) is the job of every believer, not just those who work in the church. There are opportunities to do this both locally and globally. Some require a great deal of commitment, but others are very simple and can be done at little to no cost. Below is a list of both local and global mission opportunities that you can take part in.
Local
Gospel Rescue Mission (http://www.lcgrm.org)
Community of Hope (http://www.mvcommunityofhope.org)
Both of these involve reaching out to the homeless and needy in Las Cruces.
Global
This summer, UCC is sending a group of college students and adults to Honduras and Nicaragua through the Christian Relief Fund program (http://www.christianrelieffund.org). Christian Relief Fund specializes in mission trips around the world for multiple purposes, raises money for AIDS research, and provides a way for people to sponsor children through monthly donations. While the trips for this summer have already filled up, there are still ways to help through prayer and donation.
The UCC youth group is also involved in several mission trips within the country throughout the year and need the help of adult sponsors. Check out www.highvolt.com for more information.
If you would like to make a donation to our missions fund, please click here. (Be sure to select “Campus Missions” under Budget. If there is a specific trip you would like to donate to, write this in the Notes section.)
If you are unable to go on a mission trip or donate to one, you can still help through prayer. Please be prayerful for our missionaries and for the people they will come into contact with.
